1. Biggest middle school fashion mistake?

Hollister! That's literally all I wore. 

2. Who were your best friends in high school? Pictures? 

My bestest friend was/is Kourtney!

3. What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?

Most weekends consisted of shopping, hanging out with my girls, talking about boys, going out to eat, prank calling people, school activities, and staying up late!

4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that.

I had boy-things but nothing serious or special. I tried to block that out of my memory, haha! 

5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets.

Oh, i'm sure we did but I can't really remember all of them. Also in 9th grade, we were obsessed with Mean girls, so we followed their outfit regimen..."on Monday, we wear pink".  We also had a notebook that we (there were like 7 of us) would write notes in to each other then we would pass it to each other during class periods. I'm sure there are plenty of other embarrassing things that I did too with my friends haha. 

6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be? 

Oh gosh, I don't know. I have a lot of good memories (and of course a few bad ones too) from middle school and high school! I guess I would choose to go back to one of the Mexico mission trips to Juarez that I went on in high school. I went with a few of my best friends from church and was in my happy place...I miss it so much!

It was so fun (and funny) to go back and think about middle school and high school days! I'm so thankful for all of the people I met, all of the things I got to experience, and for all of the wonderful memories that were made!

Monogramming

I don't know about you, but I LOVE anything monogrammed....and I mean anything! I blame it on my mom because she had everything monogrammed for us when we were little! Here are a few examples of some of my favorite personalized things :)

 [Clearly I have too many monogramed bags...I have even more at home! And I love my bag for hanging clothes that I got for graduation!]

[Everyone's gotta have monogramed nike shorts, pocket tees, blankets, towel wraps, and scarfs!]

Now that I have focused on how many monogramed things I have, I have realized that I might have a little too much! Last time my parents came and visited, my dad decided that I had too much "hHk" in my room and not enough "pHm" (his initials), so he wrote his initials on sticky notes and put them all over my room haha!

Better late than never?

Yes I know it's Thursday and almost the weekend again, but here is my recap from last weekend/this week :) I guess you could say life time has gotten away from me recently...but life is good, so I can't complain!

Thursday (Valentine's Day): Romantic dinner and lots of wine at Olive Garden with some of my best friends ;) followed by more wine drinking and Magic Mike after! I love these girls (and Alex) so much and loved spending the day with them! It was a wonderful day filled with love and gratefulness! 

Friday: Since I was out of town, (I went to visit my friends at Austin College...where I went to school before A&M) I got to sleep in some then I ran errands with Avani and Alex, lunch at my favorite place in Sherman, Kathleen's, baked cookies with Hailey and Emily, then we all started getting ready for a crazy night out in Uptown! We went to dinner at Velvet Taco then headed to Uptown....the rest is a little blurry. We all barely survived and had a great time though :)

Saturday: I slowly but surly made the drive back to College Station (I wasn't feeling so hot), ran some errands with Kourtney, then we had a best friend date and went to see Safe Haven! It wasn't what I expected at all but I loved it! 

Sunday-Wednesday: My sister and mom were in town from Sunday to Tuesday because my sister had a convention for work that she had to go to. We did a lot of shopping, drinking wine, laughing, and eating at yummy restaurants! I loved having them here for a few days :) On Wednesday I spent a lot of time studying at Mugwalls with Rachel then went to the Housing Fair on campus where we got free sunglasses, 9 tshirts, koozies, water bottle, cups, etc. (the bottom right picture of the collage shows some of the goodies) I mean, who doesn't love free things? I sure do :) 

Hopefully I won't get this behind again but hey, life happens! I hope you're having a great week so far and I can't believe tomorrow is already Friday again :) Oh happy day!

Sooo last week while I was out of town, two people nominated me for the Liebster award! Thank you so much "The S Chronicles" and "What's New Nini Kat"...yall are too sweet! I'm just going to combine the two and give you 11 facts about myself, answer both of their 11 questions, then ask 11 questions for the person I give the award to :)

Facts

1. I sleep with the fan on every single night, all year long.
2. I transferred from a small private liberal arts college my second semester of my sophomore year to Texas A&M. It was tough leaving all my best friends and going to a MUCH bigger school but i'm so glad that I followed my heart and my dreams.
3. I was within 2 feet of Jesse Metcalfe (one of my biggest celeb crushes) this past June and I almost passed out. 
4. I'm a very outgoing/people person but I sometimes need time to myself to think and get things done.
5. I'm a creature of habit.
6. I have the BEST family in the world. I honestly don't know what I would do without their support, laughter, honesty, love for God, and advice. They help me better myself every single day. 
7. I would monogram everything if I could ;)
8. I have a huge heart and am too trusting sometimes...which doesn't always work in my favor.
9. I always drive with my foot up...especially when I am in the car for a while. Not the safest thing to do but again....creature of habit, haha.
10. I love to travel and wish that it could be my job.
11. I started babysitting when I was in 5th grade and will never forget that day. I was a nervous wreck but it really made me mature and be responsible! It's an honor that the parents trust me enough to let me drive their kids around, keep them overnight, etc.

"The S Chronicles" Questions 

1. What are you most looking forward to this spring? Spring Break in a few weeks, being tan, new spring fashions, and patio weather! 

2. What is one item on your bucket list? Going to the airport and taking the next flight out! I know that it would kind of be a red flag now with security but I WILL make it happen :) 

3. Who would play you in the movie version of your life? Tina Fay...I only hope to be as funny as her though!

4. If you could spend a holiday in a specific city (e.g.: Valentine's Day in Paris or St. Patrick's Day in Dublin), which holiday would you choose & where would you spend it? Valentine's Day or Christmas in Paris sounds amazing! I also love Christmas in New York and can't wait to go back again this December! 

5. What was the last book you read? Currently reading 50 Shades Freed :O

6. What did you want to be when you were little (e.g.: a ballerina or a doctor)? A mommy...not even kidding haha!

7. If you could trade closets with anyone, who would it be? This is so hard but I guess I would say Jennifer Aniston because I feel like she can pull off anything!

8. Where is the most interesting place you've ever been to? I've traveled a lot of places but I guess I would say that swimming with Sting Rays in the Grand Cayman Islands was one of the most interesting :) 

9. What jewelry do you wear on a daily basis? I wear my David Yurman ring and the diamond ring that my mom gave me everyday, and I normally throw in my Tory Burch earrings and Marc Jacobs watch. 

10. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? Coffee 

11. What is your biggest pet peeve? Smacking. I seriously can't handle it. Bad eating habits disgust me!!

1. How did you come up with the name of your blog? My friend Kourtney and I were driving to Dallas one weekend and it randomly popped in my head!
2. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Mint Chocolate Chip.
3. What age would you go back to, if you could? Hmm probably 5 (Kindergarten age) because you have no responsibilities and get to just color and play house all day :)
4. Who is your favorite style icon? I don't really have just one favorite...it changes often!
5. If you won 1000 dollar shopping spree for one webiste, where would you spend it? Nordstrom
6. What is your most hated fashion trend? Chacos sandals!
7. Would you have more fun designing shoes or clothing? Definitely clothing!
8. Would you rather fight a horse sized duck or 100 duck sized horses? I guess I would say a horse sized duck because there would only be one? But that sounds pretty awful!

11. Do you feel the weather where you live gets in the way of your outfit choices? YES! Texas weather is AWFUL! I have to check the weather every morning before I get dressed for the day.

Breck Ski Trip

Here are some pictures from my wonderful trip to Breckenridge, Colorado with my family :) We did a lot of skiing of course, went to the Breckenridge Brewery and Breckenridge Distillery, shopped, ate yummy breakfasts every day at the Blue Moose Cafe, hot tubbed, and went to some of the best restaurants in Breck!

Overwhelmed

Getting back into the swing of things after my skiing vacation is kicking me in the butt! I was gone from Wednesday-Tuesday (a recap will hopefully be posted tomorrow) skiing in Breckenridge with my family which has now left me sore, exhausted, and with a long to-do list! It was SO worth it though...we had a great time and I miss it already. 

While I was gone, I got nominated for many blogging awards (which is an honor!!), so I am going to start with the first one from Sara at Pearls and Curls!

Who is your favorite philosopher? I don't really have a favorite philosopher, but if God counts then he's my favorite! I don't know what I would do without his love, acceptance, and guidance. 

What is your favorite number? 5! That's what number I always was in soccer, basketball, and softball! 

What is your favorite animal? My chocolate lab, Scout :)

What is your favorite time of the day? The time when I can sit and relax after a long day! 

What is your favorite holiday? Christmas!! I am slightly obsessed with Christmas and love everything about it...the giving, family time, and celebrating Jesus! 

What is your favorite physical activity? Skiing! 

What is your favorite non-alcohoic drink? Coke Zero...although I am trying to get better about not drinking it so often! 

What is your favorite flower? Tulips! 

What is your passion? I would have to say that my passions are children and serving others. I used to go on mission trips every year, if not multiple times a year, to Juarez, Mexico and that was my happy place. We built cinderblock houses, served others, shared the love of God, and spent time with the precious little kids. I wish it wasn't so dangerous there so that I could go more often but hopefully I will be able to go again soon! Children are also a passion of mine and have been since I was a little girl. I worked in the nursery at my church for years, babysat, and have worked at many preschools over the years. All of the little kids I babysit make my heart so happy and I love seeing them all grow up!

Snow bunny

We're having an amazing time in Breckenridge!! It was a perfect day on the slopes today and now we're rehydrating with alcohol ;) I'll do a full recap of our Breck tip next week!
